The sequins were a dynamic female vocal group with front women Veronica Gonzales, Linda Jackson and Dottie Hayes. All three hailed from Harlan High School in Chicago. The Sequins saw moderate success, touring nationally and getting in front of some big time producers like Willie Mitchell (Al Green).

Ocie Smith is no stranger to the music world. You may know him from his track “Little Green Apples” which landed #2 on the Billboard Top 100 in 1968. This 45 comes before his Billboard appearance which makes it all the more special. Smith was a special person, earning a psychology degree, serving in the Air Force, and excelling in music. Some of the most influential musicians in the world like Count Basie respected Ocie Smith.
