Female funk and soul artists are making a footprint in today’s music industry and we wanted to celebrate this with some of our favorite female soul artists from the 70s including Spanky Wilson and Jean Wells.
Spanky Wilson: Shake Your Head / Home
Label: Eastbound 627 (Promo). Released 1974.

Born in Philadelphia, Spanky Wilson is well worth the listen! “Shake Your Head” has that classic 70s funk and soul sound we all love. Groovy bass lines, pocket drumming, and of course Wilson’s fantastic vocals. Flip the 45 over to slow things down and be captivated by Spanky’s vocal range.
